As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Rosanne Berkenstock knows that older homeowners are concerned with more than just buying or selling a home. And, she knows that their needs and interests vary depending upon whether they are Baby Boomers, Active Retirees, or Older Seniors.
SENIOR RESOURCES
This website has been designed to be of special help to Rosanne's Senior clients in Culpeper, Virginia and the surrounding counties. Whether you're looking for a vacation home, investment property, downsizing, or purchasing that long-awaited dream home, Rosanne can help solve your real estate needs. She's also made it easy if you'd like to Search for Homes Online.
But, more importantly, she understands the broader concerns of Senior homeowners. While moving may be the right answer for one client, it may not be the best solution for all. If you are having trouble deciding if you should remain in your current home, downsize to a smaller, more manageable home, or move to an active retiree, supervised, or assisted living senior community, you may also want to visit her SeniorsMovePro website.
Please consider Rosanne a valuable resource as you face upcoming lifestyle transitions. She can help you find the answers to a variety of questions including:
-- How can I adapt my home for lifetime living or select a home where I can comfortably age-in-place?
-- If I build a home, how do I incorporate features of universal design into my plans?
-- I've lived in my home for most of my adult life. I need to downsize but how do I face moving all of this "stuff" I've collected?
-- What are the benefits of moving to an active Seniors community?
--What are my housing choices if I decide to give up my home?
How does a lifecare retirement facility differ from a Senior retirement community or an assisted living facility?
-- What planning should I do regarding my future and aging issues? Who will care for my pets if I have an emergency, should I involve family members in my care as I age, what are my options for aging with dignity, and what local resources are there in my area to help Seniors?
-- What are the tax consequences associated with selling my home, vacation property or investment property?
-- How do I find convenient resources for assistive devices and home medical supplies?
Rosanne's training as a Registered Nurse and past experience with her mobility impaired mother equip her with a special appreciation for the needs of mature buyers who seek a home where they can remain secure, comfortable, and independent throughout their life. She can point out potential problems in home design or function that others often overlook, and help Senior buyers choose homes that will serve them well into their golden years.
Rosanne also recognizes how hard the homeselling experience is for Seniors confronted with the need to leave a home where they have lived happily for many years. Not only is each home filled with a lifetime of memories, but its rooms are also full of memorabilia, family photos, treasured collections, and furniture that may or may not be moving to the new residence. Rosanne knows what an overwhelming and traumatic experience parting with a home and its treasures can be. She does everything she can to help make the entire experience as smooth as possible for her clients.
In addition, Rosanne knows what it's like to be the adult child of an aging parent. Her own mother failed to plan for the needs of declining health and a fall at age 89 put her in a wheelchair in a healthcare center for the next five years. In addition to handling her mother's financial affairs during that time, Rosanne was faced with the task of cleaning out her mother's home alone. She juggled those and many other responsibilities with daily trips to the healthcare center to visit and supervise her mother's care. Since she experienced first-hand the negative consequences of her mother's lack of planning, she knows how important it is for Seniors to plan for their future while they are still able to make their own decisions. And, she can empathize with the concerns expressed by adult children about their parents' later years.
